I will NEVER rent from Budget again and I am a travel agent, so I will do my best to be sure my clients do not either.

Even worse, they claimed I abandoned the vehicle and didn't tell them about it. They refused to credit me for the rental. I provided Budget with the reference number I was given by roadside assistance and they could clearly see how many miles had been driven on the car. The car was left in the hotel parking lot waiting for a tow when I left at 5 am in the morning. I called roadside assistance to try to troubleshoot the issue but was told that the only option was a tow. The car I rented was driven exactly 3.5 miles from the airport to my airport hotel and I was leaving to go back home in the morning. I had an appointment, so I ended up calling an Uber to take me to the location of the appt and return me back to my hotel. I tried for 30 minutes doing exactly what they told me to do and it would not work. After stopping at my hotel to freshen up, I went to the car and it would not start.
BUDGET RENTALS CAR LGA HOW TO
I was shown how to start the vehicle and how to unlock the vehicle using the key card. Then an hour later my car was delivered to me, it was running when I received it. I was forced to wait for a vehicle I had reserved weeks in advance or pay more for something I didn't even request. I asked for another vehicle instead and was told I would have to pay MORE for a lesser vehicle. I rented an upgraded vehicle, a Tesla because it was the same price as a mid-sized car. When I was helped, I was told the vehicle was not ready. When I arrived, I was made to wait almost an hour before being helped. I had an advance reservation at Salt Lake City, UT airport. ZERO STARS For Budget Salt Lake City Airport They have said that as I signed for the “optional extras” then I have been charged accordingly - I never once asked for or agreed to any of these lies but the company is impossible to deal with.
BUDGET RENTALS CAR LGA FULL
We were told the car was new, so didn’t need recovery, we’re told to fill the car up before returning it to avoid a charge and told the tolls would be charged to the sun pass and we would be liable for just the ones incurred - signed a blank screen with no terms or conditions on the signature pad! $459 dollars later we have been charged for fuel despite a full tank on return, recovery insurance despite explicitly saying it wasn’t wanted, $160 dollars for tolls that were more like $50. Car was fully paid for in advance and when we arrived to collect it the agent confirmed as much. Looks like my next stop is Small Claims Court.ĭO NOT SIGN ANYTHING WITHOUT GETTING A RECORDING OF YOURSELF ASKING FOR NO EXTRAS!! We used Budget after arranging a hire car through BA for our holiday to Miami. Her answer: "Please locate the email and provide me the number." She refused to look up the reservation any other way (the first time I called, the agent was much nicer and WAS able to find the reservation with just a name and phone number, so I know she's not telling the truth). I told her I could not locate the email, as it was most likely deleted. Called again, and spoke to a very rude agent who informed me she couldn't help me unless I provided a rental agreement number that was emailed to me when I first reserved the car. Well, it's been about 20 business days, and still no refund. Called Budget right away, they said I would be refunded within 5 business days. Later that day, I noticed the payment went through on my card without an issue. When I went to pick up the vehicle, I was told that there was an "issue" with my card, and they wouldn't be able to provide me with the rental.
